Rana Arif Tauseef, president of the Pakistan Textile Exporters Association (PTEA), said that optimizing the use of existing capabilities may lead to a 30-40% increase in Pakistan's textile and apparel exports, or $700 million to $1 billion.
According to the PTEA president, according to the current tax system, 75 products have been granted duty-free access to the EU, with an export value of approximately US$1.4 billion, accounting for nearly 27% of Pakistan’s total export value of US$5.1 billion to the EU. Therefore, these products have great room for growth with the help of the tax-free system.
Finally, he urged the government to make preparations for the EU's Generalized System of Preferences (GSP)+.
