The four great bodhisattvas refer to the sacred bodhisattva of Jiuhua Mountain, the Manjushri of Wutai Mountain, the Samantabhadra of Lushan Mountain, and the Goddess of Mercy of Putuo Mountain. In order to promote the excellent Buddhist culture, the People's Bank of China has put the four famous Buddhist mountains and the four great Bodhisattvas in China into gold and silver coins in 2012.

After Buddhism was introduced to China, the believers in Middle-earth chose three of the many bodhisattvas to form the "Three Great Bodhisattvas", also known as the "Three Tuas", namely Manjushri, Samantabhadra and Guanyin Bodhisattva. Later, the Tibetan Bodhisattva was added and became the "four great men".

Chinese believers have established their own dojos for them, namely the Manjusri Dojo in Wutai Mountain in Shanxi, the Puxian Dojo in Lushan, Sichuan, the Guanyin Dojo in Putuo Mountain in Zhejiang, and the Didao Road in Jiuhua Mountain in Anhui Province, also known as the Four Great Foshans in China. .
