The CEO of "Bo Yang Textile," Xie Dongxiao, first came to Keqiao with a clear vision for the fabric market. He noticed that fabric homogenization was a major issue, and he realized that engaging in price wars would not lead to long-term success. Instead, he believed that survival and growth depended on differentiation and building a unique brand identity.
To establish a distinct identity, Xie focused on high-quality Fujian fabrics. Although this increased production costs due to shipping and other expenses, it helped protect the "Bo Yang" brand. After years of effort, "Bo Yang" now locally produces Fujian fabrics and has even set up its own printing and dyeing plant in Keqiao, ensuring consistent quality and reliability.
Opportunities often favor those who are well-prepared. Xie Dongxiao is originally from Jinjiang, Fujian, specifically from Yinglin Town. His deep connections with local clothing brands led him to realize that fabric companies must go beyond just fabric development and design. He emphasized: “If we don’t own our own garment products, it’s hard to truly build a brand, even if there are successful examples from textile companies around the world.â€
When comparing the strengths of Jinjiang and Shaoxing, Xie pointed out that Jinjiang’s textile industry is highly developed, focusing more on clothing with higher entry barriers, while Shaoxing is growing rapidly, supported by favorable policies and lower labor costs, which gives it a competitive edge in second-tier markets. Based on this, developing garment lines doesn’t harm the fabric business; instead, it boosts fabric sales and strengthens the corporate brand.
Xie said: “To become a brand, you can’t rush. It requires steady accumulation.†He added, “We are living in a personalized era, and success can be achieved in one specific area.â€
